The Little Mermaid and Coco Pops to Now

Growing up the only thing better than eating cereal for breakfast was eating cereal for lunch. And maybe even before bed.
Coco pops bring it on!!

It was my absolute favourite thing to eat in the world, but today it’s the LAST thing I want to be eating for breakfast.

I remember the less complicated days when I’d get home from preschool at lunch time and put on the little mermaid (which is a fantastic movie by the way) all while eating a big bowl of cereal. Try not to judge I was just out nappies:) think my uncle bought me it for Christmas…watched the tape done!

My how things have changed. In a big way.

Eat a Protein Rich Breakfast to Lose Fat its what i do and so should you.

This one change will speed up your fat loss results straight away!!

Nowadays I stay away from cereal, pop tarts and bagels for breakfast as a recently published study found it may cause more problems than just spiking your blood sugar.

A study published in Nutrition Journal found those who ate a high protein breakfast had reduced cravings for sweet and high-fat foods later in the day. So how can that not be good for fat loss!

A high protein breakfast releases dopamine into our bodies causing feelings of reward. They found this “reward” reduced food cravings later on in the day.

And the less cravings you have for sweet and savoury foods throughout the day will directly translate to you losing fat.

A FAVOURITE PROTEIN RICH BREAKFAST OF MINE IS…

One of my favourite meals for breakfast to make is eggs mixed with some veggies and hot jalapeño peppers. (These are optional of course) I just love spicy foods.

Oil up a pan with some coconut oil. Mix up 4 eggs in a pan over medium heat. Throw in some pre-cut mushrooms and peppers (see a time saving tip for you guys/who say I don’t have time in the mornings) along with some grated cheddar cheese.

Then I’ll pop in a few of the jalapeños over for taste while also giving my metabolism a boost to get the fat burning engines roaring.

But if your still telling me you can’t make time. I’d recommend picking up a low carb protein shake to quickly get your protein in without all the carbs you’ll typically eat for a quick-to-go breakfast.

There’s really no excuse for tossing a scoop of protein powder into a blender or shaker bottle and having a quick meal to go.

Just by adding a protein rich breakfast to your meal plan is going to be critical towards you dropping fat.

On the other hand if you skip it or eat too many carbs for breakfast you’ll actually cause yourself to be fighting an uphill battle the rest of the day.

This week I’m challenging you to eat a protein rich breakfast every day. I promise you will see the difference quite fast.

Progress is all about replacing bad habits that weigh you down with positive ones that enhance your life.

Replacing those old bad habits isn’t easy for anyone but with some hard work and proper planning you can do it.

We all stumble from time to time but it’s up to us to get back up and steer ourselves in the right direction. I’ve been there! Not that long ago I was 2.5 stone overweight! But that’s another story for another day!

Feelings of guilt and shame for our backtracking is detrimental in the long-run so instead of feeling bad about ourselves for stumbling let’s try getting back up and with a determining voice say, “Let’s do this.”
